Pontiadoreà is a magnificent, elegant, and fast Comet 45 Sport yacht of the prestigious Comar shipyard from Italy.
If you walk around the Italian marinas, your eye will be attracted by very elegant boats, either with classic lines or modern. There is a good chance those boats are Comets.
The Comet 45s is a fast cruiser racer. The first one built won the ARC race in 2004, and she happily plowed the oceans ever since.
Her name, Pontiadoreà, comes from ancient Greek, meaning “gift of the sea”. It is the boat that is a gift of the sea, or is it the sea that is a gift? Only sailing will give the answer.
Pontiadoreà features three double cabins, each one with an extra bunk bed. The cabin is particularly spacious and has a nice shower, where you can admire the sky.
The rigging was completely refitted in 2017. Other new equipment includes a water maker, B&G radar and Chart-plotter, and a new saving fuel propeller.
In 2018, a new mainsail and a storm sail were commissioned.
Pontiadoreà is fast: her 2.70 m keel makes for a fast and smooth close hauled sailing. She can be swift even with light winds; proper reefing and the storm jib will make her able to sail under strong winds too.
